About the role
- Senior Grid Connection Manager managing the net connection process for battery storage projects in Germany. Collaborating with grid operators and internal teams to ensure project feasibility and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Manage the entire lifecycle of grid connection processes for our battery energy storage projects (BESS) in Germany
- Identify suitable grid connection points and assess the technical and economic feasibility of connections
- Lead and coordinate grid connection applications with distribution and transmission system operators (DSO/TSO)
- Act as the primary contact for grid operators, ensuring proactive and trusted communication
- Work closely with internal teams (project development, permitting, engineering)
- Support strategic assessments of grid availability, capacity planning and regulatory developments
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, Renewable Energy or a comparable field
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in grid connection, grid planning or system operation
- Ideally, experience within a distribution or transmission system operator (DSO/TSO)
- Proven experience managing and implementing grid connection processes for renewable energy or storage projects
- Solid understanding of German and European grid connection rules and regulatory frameworks
- Strong project management and communication skills
- Fluent German and English (both required)
