About the role
- Chief Financial Officer leading financial strategy and governance at a growing digital assets company in Cyprus. Focusing on financial clarity and regulatory compliance in a multi-entity environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the overall financial strategy of the company and act as a key sparring partner to the CEO and senior leadership
- Own annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning including outlook scenarios and runway management
- Oversee Accounting & Reporting including monthly and annual financial statements, management reporting, and investor reporting
- Own Treasury & Liquidity management across fiat and crypto environments, including risk management, hedging approaches, and custody structures
- Support Fundraising & Investor Relations activities including capital rounds, banking relationships, and Board communication
- Act as a strategic Business Partner to Product, Trading, and Operations when evaluating new markets, products, and revenue streams
- Oversee finance-related Risk & Compliance interfaces including AML reporting touchpoints and financial risk monitoring
- Establish strong Controlling & KPI frameworks to monitor profitability, margins, cost discipline, and unit economics
- Ensure regulatory-compliant financial processes (including MiCA-aligned structures) and maintain close collaboration with auditors and regulators
- Drive financial governance and company-wide policies, including tax structuring and optimization where relevant
- Build and structure group-wide financial reporting across entities, ensuring transparency and decision-ready data for management and investors
Requirements
- Strong background in the financial sector (banking, investment firms, asset management, regulated FinTech, or similar)
- Deep understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and multi-entity reporting structures
- Strong treasury knowledge including liquidity management and risk mitigation structures
- Experience managing auditors, regulatory reporting, and external stakeholders
- Ability to lead finance teams while staying focused on strategic development rather than daily operational accounting
- Fluent in English
- Strong communication skills and ability to present financial strategy clearly to executive leadership and Board level
- Strategic mindset combined with hands-on leadership capability
- Solid understanding of tax structures and corporate financial governance
- Experience operating in regulated environments; exposure to MiCA, financial regulatory frameworks, or similar is highly advantageous
- Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role (CFO or senior Head of Finance level)
