- Loan Underwriting Manager I overseeing underwriting activities, managing staff, and ensuring loan quality at TD Bank. Supervising a team with responsibility for daily loan decisions and operations.
Responsibilities
- Supervises a team of Underwriters
- Oversees daily underwriting activities, including workflow, turnaround, productivity, escalations and quality monitoring
- Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
- Manages employees in lower complexity lanes
- Helps with the selection process, orientation, compensation decisions and performance reviews of staff members
- Conducts staff meetings and individual one on one monthly meetings with underwriters
- Underwrites and decisions loans that are escalated by their team
- Performs other duties as may be assigned
- Provides exceptional customer service, congruent with WOW! Philosophies to customers, vendors and other institutions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or work experience equivalent to Bachelor's degree required
- 10+ Years of related experience
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of bank operations, department policies, procedures, products, services, systems and applications
- Proven ability to interact with all TD Bank and departmental customers
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent PC skills and familiarity with standard office equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment a must
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated and has excellent customer service skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Proven supervisory experience, organizational, analytical and decision-making skills
