Responsibilities
Drive Operational Excellence and Innovation
Take ownership of operational performance, ensuring quality, compliance, and timeliness across all disability operations (STD, LTD, ECI)
Make strategic decisions to optimize team capacity while maintaining even workload distribution
Optimize return to work outcomes in safe, sustainable and timely ways.
Spearhead the modernization of our operations through digital tools, automation, and data-driven insights
Lead Strategic Transformation
Align the Edmonton office with Sun Life's national disability strategy through decisive action and clear communication
Innovate claims management, client engagement, and plan member support processes
Demonstrate strong decision-making skills in implementing change initiatives
Elevate Client Experience and Business Growth
Take proactive ownership of client relationships, working closely with Business Development to resolve issues and drive satisfaction
Make data-driven decisions to improve client satisfaction scores and contribute to sales efforts
Represent Sun Life with authority at external events, showcasing strong leadership and industry expertise
Develop High-Performing Teams and Culture
Build and lead a high-performing, engaged team through clear expectations, accountability, and empowerment

Requirements
10+ years of leadership experience in complex, client-facing operations.
Strong track record of leading through change and delivering measurable business outcomes.
Deep knowledge of disability claims management and rehabilitation practices.
Experience building and developing high-performing teams.
Strategic mindset with strong execution skills and operational discipline.
Exceptional communication, influencing, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience); advanced credentials are an asset.
