Responsibilities
- Further develop internal policies, control mechanisms and reporting structures to ensure sustainable quality assurance
- Manage month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes, including consolidation at group level
- Serve as primary contact for external auditors and oversee all audit processes
- Provide technical and organizational leadership for a 15-person accounting team, ensuring timely month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial statements in accordance with national and international accounting standards (HGB & IFRS)
- Own tax-related matters including filings, compliance and development of an internal control framework
- Oversee liquidity planning, cash projections and monitoring of short-term financial investments
- Support financial due diligence for strategic transactions and investment decisions
- Initiate and implement efficiency and digitization projects in the finance area using modern systems and automation solutions
- Promote and develop specialist finance professionals within the area of responsibility
- Maintain a professional network with external advisors, institutions and relevant stakeholders
Requirements
- Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field; additional qualifications (e.g., international accounting certifications) are a plus
- Several years of solid professional experience in accounting with leadership responsibilities in a dynamic corporate environment
- Strong knowledge of accounting under HGB (German GAAP) & IFRS
- Experience with consolidation, financial reporting and analysis of complex data structures
- Solid understanding of tax frameworks and requirements
- Proficiency with ERP systems and digital finance tools
- Strong analytical thinking with a structured, solution-oriented working style
- German and English language skills at C1 level or higher
- Leadership skills with a focus on team culture, motivation and sustainable development
- Experience in scaling business models or technology-driven environments is advantageous
