Committee Manager coordinating technical committees for SAE to deliver shared solutions in mobility engineering. Engaging with committee members and managing meeting logistics in compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
Coordinating the work of assigned technical committees by acting as the SAE representative at appropriate committee meetings.
Facilitating committee work before, during and after meetings.
Planning meeting facilities.
Working directly with suppliers.
Ensuring adherence to legal requirements, policies and procedures.
Conducting on-site registration.
Ensuring the proactive production of technical standards that are relevant to the industry and which meet the goals of SAE.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field with 3 years experience in business, meeting planning, or an administrative or customer service support field area, or equivalent, required.
Or will accept an Associates degree with 5 years experience.
Experience working in or with the aerospace and/or ground vehicle industry, desired.
Non-profit association experience and industry standards development process, desired.
Experience in managing people (i.e., supervision, volunteerism), preferred.
Excellent oral and written communications skills, required.
Strong presentation and meeting facilitation skills, required.
Ability to develop and implement meeting plans, required.
Excellent organizational, planning and negotiation skills, required.
Ability to effectively utilize computer programs and web applications, required.
Strong interpersonal and customer relation skills, required.
Excellent people management and motivational skills.
Ability to work with a variety of individuals and coordinate their needs while maintaining the rules and integrity of the organization.
