About the role
- Sr. Manager responsible for the design and delivery of Electrical and Mechanical systems at Royal Bank of Canada’s Data Centres. Joining a dynamic team focused on operational resiliency and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Work within a team at the Royal Bank of Canada responsible for overseeing project design and delivery of Electrical and Mechanical systems at the Enterprise Data Centres.
- Design and integrate electrical & mechanical engineered systems across critical environments portfolio.
- Deliver resilient, compliant, and operationally aligned systems throughout the project lifecycle.
- Design and delivery validation (commissioning) and documentation turnover ensuring operational resiliency, system optimization and sustainability objectives are achieved.
- Enforce design, construction, and commissioning standards in accordance with internal protocols, external codes, and industry best practices.
- Identify and implement strategies for integration, testing procedures, and system lifecycle management to reduce risks and optimize performance.
- Support a team of specialists, fostering a high-performance, technically curious, and collaborative culture.
- Develop engineering standards to maintain compliance with all Authorities Having Jurisdiction and evolving technology within the industry.
- Assembling of complete, accurate, and accessible as-built documentation, O&M manuals, system diagrams, and integration records.
- Analyze historical data and trends of equipment to identify root-cause of equipment failures and recommend improvements.
Requirements
- Professional Engineer with a strong understanding of local code
- Proven background in design and construction delivery
- Strong communication skills
- Strong engineering and analytical skills
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including SharePoint, Word and Excel
- Strong work ethic and ability to work without direct supervision
- Previous experience in a Data Centre environment (Nice to Have)
- Experience working with complex mechanical engineering systems, including Cooling Plants (Nice to Have)
- Experience working with or complex electrical engineering systems, including Uninterrupted Power Systems (UPS) and electrical Generation Plants (Nice to Have)
