About the role

• Senior Solution Designer developing strategic solutions in BSS/OSS at Qualysoft. Driving project outcomes and collaborating with cross-functional teams in an international environment.

Responsibilities

• Will be responsible for the initial analysis, solution blueprint and design for a number of complex, technical and strategic projects that contribute to the strategy and regulatory obligations, with the prime focus on driving project outcomes to meet the commercial objectives;
• Will provide an overarching reference for the entire project setting by analysing the scope and setting the direction for the implementation phase. They will define the first step towards the eventual deployment of any solution by providing the blueprint for what needs to be built out. All projects are delivered through a formal governance process following a Project Delivery Lifecycle, in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe);
• The Business Solutions Stack & Operating Solution Stack (BSS/OSS) solutions will vary in complexity and will require a good understanding of policies, standards, design principles and delivery processes. Ideally, the Solution Designer you will have experience of brainstorming technical requirements and defining use cases for BSS/OSS platforms, including CRM, Billing, Controlling etc. The Solution Designer will need to engage with other internal teams and suppliers to drive automation to achieve design efficiencies, where appropriate;
• The Solution Designer will be required to work closely with the Architects and Solution Owners teams to align with the Strategy and global solutions. As a Solution Designer, the employee will be expected to provide technical overviews and steer to other members of the team. In addition, they will also work closely with the rest of the teams, and peers in other global functions. As the BSS/OSS spans across all departments , the Solution Designer will be working closely with compliance, assurance, IT and Network teams as well;
• Finally, will be required to keep up to date with the latest developments in Technology BSS/OSS technologies and ensure retains value in its investment.

Requirements

• Produce solution scope and designs primarily for BSS/OSS, working with product owners, security architects, technical leads, Global/local teams and IT/Network teams;
• Initiating and helping to shape large work streams and projects , engaging with all stakeholders at the appropriate level;
• Discovery and gap analysis of solutions to assess non-compliances to baseline and regulatory requirements and define solutions to deliver objectives;
• All core solution design activities including requirements analysis, impact assessment, blueprints, high level designs and prototyping;
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all team members, line managers;
• Technical evaluation and assessment of BSS/OSS products and services;
• Applying design principles and patterns to ensure the solution is scalable, reliable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with the business goals;
• Prepare white paper for innovative solution designs to reduce costs and increase business value;
• Contribute to quantifying Risks & Issues for the Programme / Portfolio / Projects as appropriate;
• Contribute to the analysis and tracking of progress against all KPI’s;
• Contribute to the development, maintenance and assurance of a Long Range Plan / Pipeline of viable projects based on robust cost/benefit analysis;
• Understand the impact of de-scoped / deferred project deliverables and factor into the Technology Strategy;
• Proven experience of solution design on major technology projects;
• Good working knowledge of BSS/OSS;
• Cloud architectures solutions;
• Understand the appropriate use cases of BSS/OSS;
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
• Able to operate with a high degree of autonomy, flexibility and self-organisation;
• Have the ability to provide innovative solutions to challenging problems;
• The ability to be an effective team player;
• Strategy & Problem solving skills;
• Experience in the Technology, CRM, Billing or SI industry;
• Microsoft Visio or any diagram design tools.
