About the role
- Packaging Engineer providing comprehensive package engineering support at Perrigo. Involves collaboration with teams to ensure effective packaging development and component maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive package engineering support and packaging component expertise
- Develop and prepares packaging specifications and bills of materials, cost estimates and rationalizations
- Conduct and document package testing for component approval or troubleshooting
- Work closely with other Business Units and functional teams to support launch of new products/packages
- Collaborate to develop promotions and displays, and develop cost savings initiatives
- Provide deviation resolutions related to packaging component quality
- Manage changes and resolve or escalate project issues
- Participate in the selection of new equipment and/or tooling.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering/scientific discipline - ideally Packaging Engineering
- Average of five or more years of progressively responsible packaging development experience in an operational environment
- Demonstrated thorough knowledge of EU GMPs
- Experience executing testing protocols for a wide variety of packaging components
- Proven ability to work independently toward specific goals
- Strong analytical skills including the ability to develop sound economic analysis
- Demonstrated broad knowledge of methods in package design, testing, and packaging materials, tooling, methods improvement, ergonomics, and project management skills.
- Speaks fluent English.
