About the role

  • Portfolio Manager managing BASF Agricultural Solutions portfolio in New Zealand, driving revenue and marketing initiatives across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own the commercial performance of the BASF New Zealand portfolio, managing strategy, pricing, forecasting, promotion, and lifecycle planning to deliver revenue, profit, and market share targets.
  • Develop and execute short to long ‑ term portfolio strategies based on market insight, customer needs, competitive dynamics, and business priorities.
  • Identify and pursue new growth opportunities, translating insights into actionable plans that drive sales and portfolio value.
  • Lead new product launches in collaboration with sales, technical, regulatory, R&D, and regional teams to ensure successful market entry and adoption.
  • Represent BASF at customer and industry events, supporting stakeholder engagement and sharing market intelligence and best practices.
  • Contribute to regional and global projects while maintaining regular communication with internal teams to align on demand planning, performance reviews, and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in portfolio management, marketing, sales support, or commercial roles, ideally within agriculture, crop protection, or chemical ‑ based industries.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical capability, including market analysis, sales analysis, forecasting, and pricing analysis.
  • Be commercially minded, with the ability to interpret data and market insights to support portfolio strategy and business decisions.
  • Work effectively with sales teams, bringing strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Be well organised and detail ‑ focused, able to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes.
  • Possess solid Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Hold a current driver’s licence and be comfortable with local travel as required.
