Responsibilities

  • Support research activities of Penn Dental Medicine
  • Manage comprehensive grant portfolio, including pre-award and post-award activities
  • Oversee proposal and budget development and compliance
  • Collaborate with principal investigators for strategic planning
  • Prepare financial analyses for faculty
  • Monthly reconciliation of grant expenditures and compliance
  • Manage post-award processes including account generation
  • Oversee payroll on grants and work with fiscal operations team
  • Authorize Purchasing and Accounts payable transactions
  • Participate in annual budget process and projections
  • Indirectly supervise PI support staff

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Familiarity with university-sponsored research policies and related research management systems preferred
  • Experience with NIH and other federal granting agencies required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Adobe, BEN Financials, and Business Objects preferred
  • Working knowledge of Uniform Guidance required
  • Strong organizational, data management, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently in a deadline-driven, multiple-priority work environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and critical thinking skills
