Responsibilities
Collaborate with a global team to analyse client trading behavior, identify clients requiring further review, and assign them to appropriate execution profiles.
Build expertise in market risk management and client identification, supporting the department’s 24/7 oversight of market risk limits and controls.
Deliver critical support to the Head of Market Risk - EMEA through in-depth analysis, proactive review, and continuous monitoring of risk metrics across multiple asset classes.
Minimize risk to the organization by utilizing financial instruments and ensuring strict adherence to the group’s risk limits.
Assist in the preparation of risk reports and analyses for the Head of Market Risk, General Manager – Operations, Risk and Analytics, Senior Management, and other stakeholders.
Support the monitoring of the group’s overall market risk to ensure adherence to risk limits.
Collaborate with senior team members to contribute to the management and reduction of group risk through financial instruments.
Highlight potential issues or risks to the Head of Operations, Head of Market Risk, or global compliance functions for review and resolution.
Aid with the monitoring of back-end pricing systems and infrastructure to ensure smooth operations.
Conduct research and contribute to analyses of Pepperstone’s pricing and competitor offerings, while suggesting potential improvements or opportunities.
Assist in reviewing potential new products and conducting market research to inform decision-making.
Support clear and transparent communication with stakeholders regarding products, market events, and risks.
Help to identify and escalate potential cases of market abuse or malicious trading activities to the compliance team.
Assist in the assessment of client trading activities to support effective risk management decisions and counterparty allocation.
Work closely with senior team members on tasks such as best execution reporting, trade reporting, and fulfilling other regulatory requirements.
Requirements
A degree (or near completion) in Mathematics, Commerce, Business, Finance, or Engineering.
A foundational understanding of financial markets with an eagerness to deepen knowledge.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, with a willingness to learn and apply new techniques.
Comfortable working in fast-paced environments and adaptable to handling multiple priorities.
