About the role
- Expert Cloud Security Engineer responsible for security automation of cloud services at PG&E. Collaborating with multiple teams to implement effective security measures against cyberattacks.
Responsibilities
- Assist in consulting and guidance during the detailed design, build, test, and deploy phases of IT projects
- Deploy new applications, application updates, security updates/patches and report creation
- Partner with engineers to develop technical standards and manuals for design, and maintenance
- Provide new and innovative solutions and recommendations to enhance database(s) with new data sources and improved data processes
- Help design fault-tolerant system architectures to run mission-critical applications and ensure high-availability of systems in AWS cloud
- Develop and monitor governance standards, processes, and procedures to assure accurate records and information security
- Develop and maintain broad organizational security and threat awareness of major initiatives and management priorities
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
- 7 years experience in IT-Information Technology
- 3 years experience in IT-Information Technology Cloud Technologies
- 3 years of cybersecurity experience
- Experience in IT-Information Technology programming and automation
- Experience in an Agile environment
- AWS-Amazon Web Services Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or equivalent certification
- Experience as a sysadmin using OS platform (Linux/Unix)
- Experience with continuous integration and deployment technologies
- Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Chef, Puppet and Ansible
- Experience with network fundamentals such as DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP
- Experience in risk management and modeling
- Experience in systems integration, job-related
