Responsibilities
Completes all core operational activities within Commercial Lending Quality Control, while ensuring adherence to Department procedures, Corporate policies, Compliance, Audit and legal requirements
Complete advanced level review, analysis, and interpretation of legal Bank documentation over all disciplines
Respond to or initiate standard and non-standardized requests to internal business partners
Respond to or resolve mid-level escalations and special requests across all disciplines
Research and provide follow-up to escalated issues
Assist with cross-training of basic and mid-level core disciplines
Provide low level shadowing and coaching to entry level team associates under guidance and supervision of management
Complete cross-training in all disciplines/functions of team and serve as backup for multiple team functions as required
Utilize and challenge mid to high level internal procedures across the Department
Modify Departmental procedures as needed
Utilize multiple Bank systems and applications
Serve as back-up to Group Leader under management supervision
Run and create business reports
Interact with internal business partners and management
Assist with management providing support for Department audits as requested
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite
Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management
Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable
Complete other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Associate’s degree and a minimum of 1 year’ related work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 3 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 1 years’ related work experience
Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
Minimum of 2 years’ experience within quality assurance or quality control
Minimum of 2 years’ experience reviewing legal or loan documentation
