About the role
- Engineering Manager leading software product feature development for a fleet management platform. Manage engineering teams and drive high-quality product launches while collaborating on the product roadmap.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement a technology vision for building new product features.
- Manage the product and business outcomes of the engineering team.
- Develop a long-term product roadmap in collaboration with product teams.
- Drive the execution, launch, and daily operations of functionalities for internal/external customers at consistently high quality.
- Introduce and continuously evolve cutting-edge development, release, and operations processes.
- Develop, document, and improve best practices and coding standards.
- Hire, manage, and develop a diverse team of highly qualified Engineers.
- Contribute to development tasks such as coding and feature verifications as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of experience in Software Engineering or related domains
- Has experience working in high-throughput and low-latency systems
- 2+ years of experience managing 10+ engineers
- 5+ years of experience in building high-scale distributed systems for a product company
- Have technical depth and breadth in agile product development, distributed systems, infrastructure, cloud computing, build tools, front-end engineering, mobile, and QA.
- Ability to perform architectural work, including the development of technical designs and definition of requirements
- Proven track record as a nimble and proactive thinker and doer
- A high degree of comfort with short release cycles, owning the full software lifecycle
- Passion for continuous experimentation and learning
- Demonstrated success in hiring, managing, motivating, and promoting skilled Engineers
- A track record as a strong individual contributor earlier in your career
