About the role
- Credit Analyst underwriting loan requests at Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union. Reviewing business loan applications and ensuring compliance with established policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite loan requests while adhering to established credit union policies and conforming to regulatory statutes.
- Review business loan applications and supporting financial statements to determine the borrowing capacity, capitalization, and cash flow dynamics for the applicant.
- Use analytical software to evaluate loan requests, interpret credit scores, and determine the need for further analysis.
- Prepare the credit memorandum and reports for review by the loan committee.
- Attend Credit Loan Committee meetings, presenting summary information and participating in discussions on other loans being considered.
- Perform annual reviews on the commercial loan portfolio pursuant to the credit union guidelines.
- Assist in servicing existing MBL relationships as needed.
Requirements
- Three to five years of similar or related experience.
- A bachelor's degree, or achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
- Strong analytical skills and ability to make sound judgments.
- Strong time management and ability to manage multiple workloads with successful results.
- Excellent written communication and listening skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office).
