- Provide academic and athletic coaching as a Teacher and Girls Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach at high school level. Contribute to student development and success in sports and academics.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum
- Conduct assessment of student learning styles and modify curricula as needed
- Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions
- Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits
- Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning
- Drive bus to transport students safely when needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
- Demonstrated competency in the academic subject area assigned
- Ability to obtain a CDL with passenger, air brake, and safety endorsements
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and supervise student athletes
- General knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures
- Knowledge of University Interscholastic League (UIL) rules
- Ability to pass annual and random DOT physical/drug testing
- Ability to lift 30lbs
- Quality experience as a coach or participant in sports assigned
