About the role
- Engineering Manager building high performing teams in software development for Kaufland e-commerce, focusing initially on hands-on technical tasks and later on managerial responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Build, develop and enable high performing teams who build awesome products
- Initially focus on hands-on technical tasks as individual contributor
- Lead engineers of one product team in a you-build-it-you-run-it environment
- Remain hands-on to a reasonable extent for technical guidance, architectural decisions, and complex problem-solving
- Help engineers grow personally and professionally
- Ensure effective technology leverage within product teams
- Accountable for delivery and reliability of product balancing scope, quality, performance, and operational stability
- Contribute to strategic initiatives that are larger than your team
Requirements
- Vast experience in engineering of scalable web applications
- Experience in cross-functional product teams
- Experience as Engineering Manager addressing technical challenges pragmatically and making architectural decisions
- Knowledge including TypeScript, Vue.js, Node.js/PHP and modern frontend tooling
- Excellent communication skills especially in a remote setup
- Experience in a management role and building successful teams
- Fluency in English (C1) with enjoyment in working in an international environment
