Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all contract documentation, providing expert guidance from pre-tender through to post-contract stages.
- Draft and issue clear contractual correspondence to clients and subcontractors.
- Build and maintain strong post-contract relationships with design teams and clients.
- Lead material procurement strategies and negotiate subcontractor agreements to maximize value.
- Ensure timely submission of interim valuations, payments, and certification of subcontractor accounts.
- Manage and resolve variations to protect and enhance project value.
- Certify final accounts and agree settlements with clients.
- Conduct cost-value reconciliations and monitor project financial performance through regular reporting.
- Track project schedules to ensure deadlines are consistently met.
- Drive the growth, development, and performance of the commercial team.
Requirements
- HNC/HND/BSc in Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
- Chartered status or RICS membership is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of commercial management across the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction through to final account
- In-depth knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g. JCT, NEC) and the ability to provide clear contractual guidance
- Experienced in managing multiple projects with a keen eye for detail
- Experience in subcontract procurement, variations, and final accounts
- Ability to support delivery teams and drive project performance
- Full UK driving license is essential
