Responsibilities
Design, analyze, and maintain relational database structures to support business applications and analytics needs.
Develop, review, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and scripts to ensure high performance and scalability.
Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning and optimization strategies.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity through validation, constraints, and data quality checks.
Support database deployments and changes across development, staging, and production environments, following Jabil change management processes.
Collaborate with developers to review database-related code and ensure adherence to architectural and coding standards.
Implement and maintain database security, access controls, and compliance with data protection policies.
Document database designs, data models, and technical standards to support maintainability and knowledge sharing.
Provide support and troubleshooting for database-related incidents and service requests.
Monitor and manage storage capacity and scalability.
Install new database software and configure system parameters for optimal performance.
Apply software updates and security patches to fix bugs and protect the system against vulnerabilities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong proficiency in SQL and database concepts (tables, indexes, joins, constraints, transactions).
Experience working with MS SQL Server 2019/2022, Postgres, MySQL, or similar platforms.
Solid understanding of database design principles, normalization, and performance tuning (index maintenance, update statistics, execution plans, etc).
Experience supporting high availability, failover clusters, backup/restore tasks, utilization of diagnostics tools.
Familiarity with Windows 2022 server, Storage Area Network and AWS Cloud Computing.
