Junior Communications Officer providing support for external communications and advocacy in humanitarian sector. Managing content production and coordination for IMPACT in Geneva.
Responsibilities
Ensure active and timely dissemination of external communications across our main channels (social media and newsletter)
Support review of communications materials and content to ensure alignment with minimum internal standards, clarity, adherence to tone and editorial line, and proofreading for errors
Produce communications outputs (articles, visuals, documents, etc.) as needed
Support the integration of communications and advocacy into ongoing programmatic and strategic development
Manage analysis of Communications & Advocacy (C&A) activities, particularly mass mailings, social media, and the website.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in communications, graphic design, journalism, or a related field, and an interest in the humanitarian and research sectors;
At least 1 year of experience in an NGO, international organization, or research institute;
Excellent written and spoken English and a good working knowledge of French or Spanish;
Strong writing, communication, publishing, and editing skills—especially for social media;
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), and online publishing (WordPress and social media platforms), with a willingness to further develop these skills;
Creative experience and skills in graphic design and audiovisual production;
Passionate about communications and innovative ways to create and share information;
Experience and enthusiasm for learning copywriting, editing, marketing, and humanitarian communications;
Attention to detail while also able to see the “big picture”;
Ability to work in a dynamic, multicultural environment and meet deadlines.
