Responsibilities
Provide specialized advice to sales, operations and manufacturing teams on regulatory matters
Participate in the assessment of regulatory risks related to projects and initiatives (e.g., Modernia) and provide recommendations
Act as a subject-matter expert in the development and maintenance of compliance policies, procedures and programs
Collaborate with multiple internal teams (sales, pricing, training, marketing, legal, risk management, corporate compliance)
Support reporting and follow-up on recommendations from internal and external auditors and regulatory authorities
Actively participate in the development and monitoring of regulatory action plans
Support the execution of strategic regulatory projects
Contribute to continuous improvement of compliance-related processes and tools
Requirements
Member in good standing of a Canadian Bar (required)
10+ years of experience in compliance, risk management or regulatory roles, ideally in the insurance or savings sector
Strong knowledge of the regulatory framework applicable to the distribution and manufacture of insurance and savings products
Ability to work collaboratively, influence stakeholders and communicate effectively
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Advanced proficiency in English, as the role requires daily communication with English-speaking clients across Canada via email and phone
