About the role
- Plant Manager responsible for manufacturing facility performance at Hydro, a leading aluminium extrusion business. Ensures safety, compliance, and operational excellence while managing resources and personnel.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe work environment, ensuring strict adherence to EPA, OSHA, environmental, and legal regulations while promoting the Hydro Zero accident standard.
- Plan, implement, and monitor production schedules to meet customer deadlines and optimize plant capacity.
- Enforce rigorous quality control standards to ensure finished aluminum products meet or exceed industry standards.
- Recruit, lead, train, and mentor staff to foster a culture of high performance and safety.
- Develop and manage the plant operating budget, including tracking key financial metrics (KPIs) and managing labor and maintenance costs, including budgets and capital requests.
- Oversee maintenance and technological upgrades of machinery to ensure long-term reliability and minimize downtime.
- Provide strategic direction for daily manufacturing activities to exceed customer expectations for quality and delivery.
- Oversee complex aluminum-specific equipment such as extrusion presses, melting furnaces, and casting lines.
- Drive operational excellence using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or 5S methodologies to reduce waste and improve efficiency (OEE).
Requirements
- Minimum of ten years in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum of five years within extrusion press or cast planning
- Minimum of eight years of people leadership experience with formal training
- Bachelor’s degree Major(s): Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or a related degree
- Experience with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or 5S methodologies
- Proficiency in ERP systems
- Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14011, and IATF certifications
- Travel up to 15%.
- English required, Bi-Lingual Preferred.
