About the role

  • SysAdmin managing program-owned infrastructure for Warfare Systems under HII’s Mission Technologies division. Designing secure network patterns and leading high-stakes technical work with visible mission impact.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.
  • Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
  • Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
  • Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
  • Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience administering and securing Windows and/or Linux enterprise environments
  • Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and firewall concepts
  • Experience performing system hardening, patch management, and vulnerability remediation
  • Proven ability to manage multi-user system environments and collaborate with network, security, and engineering teams
  • Experience developing or maintaining system documentation, configurations, and operational procedures
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance and meet program-specific eligibility requirements
  • Systems Administrator II 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.
  • Systems Administrator III 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
  • Systems Administrator IV 10 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 8 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant experience.
