About the role
- Tax Analyst assisting in legal matters in labor, civil, commercial, and tax areas at GrupoSC. Ensuring compliance with tax legislation and regulations across various operations.
Responsibilities
- Handle responses to tax notifications, summons and communications issued by federal, state and municipal authorities, collecting information from internal departments and ensuring compliance with deadlines established by the tax authorities.
- Perform technical analysis of Tax Assessment Notices (Autos de Infração), evaluating legal grounds, tax calculations and related documents, with the objective of preparing technical and documentary inputs for the legal team’s defenses and appeals.
- Conduct legislative analyses and interpret tax legislation applicable to the company’s operations, especially related to indirect taxes (ICMS, ICMS-ST, IPI, PIS and COFINS) and direct taxes.
- Ensure the quality and consistency of tax information provided to tax authorities, acting as a technical support point in the relationship with the tax authorities.
- Support, when necessary, the processes of opening, modifying and closing branches, including obtaining and managing state registrations and substitute taxpayer registrations; prepare tax opinions and guidance for internal clients to ensure correct application of legislation and mitigation of tax risks; participate in the preparation and monitoring of requests for refunds, reimbursements and tax recoveries; assist with the issuance and regularization of negative debt certificates (CND/CPEN); analyze special tax regimes applicable to clients, suppliers and company operations, advising on correct system configuration and tax procedures; and provide support to operational areas in situations of goods retention at tax checkpoints, seeking regularization and release of shipments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related fields.
- Experience handling tax audits and notifications, and experience analyzing Tax Assessment Notices and administrative tax proceedings.
- Knowledge of tax legislation related to ICMS, ICMS-ST, ICMS-DIFAL, PIS, COFINS and IPI.
- Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel.
