Responsibilities
Oversee daily accounting operations for a portfolio of nonprofit and/or government contractor clients
Ensure timely and accurate monthly close processes, financial reporting, and compliance
Serve as the primary point of contact for ongoing client communications
Support client onboarding by establishing workflows, timelines, and expectations
Regularly present financial results and key insights to client management
Plan, schedule, and staff engagements using firm policies
Monitor engagement budgets, time budgets, and resource utilization
Identify opportunities to add value through process improvements and advisory insights
Review and evaluate internal controls prepared by staff
Supervise and review work of Staff and Senior Accountants
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and relevant experience in public accounting/outsourced accounting (typically 5-10 years)
CPA preferred but not required
Effective written and oral communications with employees, partners, clients, and vendors
Organize projects, set priorities, and delegate tasks
Assume lead role in planning and implementing assigned projects
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive firm and client information
Demonstrated ability to bring in new business
Minimum of forty hours of continuing professional education required yearly
Proficiency in modern accounting technology such as QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Nexonia, Excel, Generative AI
