Advanced Vehicle Development Integration Engineer focusing on wind noise at General Motors. Responsible for vehicle level performance integration and N&V assessment.
Responsibilities
Perform N&V assessment of all Wind Noise related items; Shape & Sealing.
Ensure all N&V component targets are defined in SOR prior to it being sent out for sourcing.
Conduct lab testing to develop requirements for any component on the vehicle; electrical modules, HVAC, interior components, etc….
Coordinate CFD model builds & interpret results for shape development prior to styling freeze
Document results and communicate results to N&V Center VPOs / SME(s) and also SMT / VDDV / VDT engineers as needed.
Support prototype vehicle reduction by developing math-based tools and models.
Use all N&V data acquisition tools to conduct testing, LMS & HEAD systems.
Document lessons learned, support peer review and program review meetings.
Support PDT / CIT / PIT meetings as needed to resolve N&V AVD performance issues.
Support VDT engineers with lab testing to help root cause issues found in vehicles.
Interact with technicians, equipment & software suppliers, validation, SMTs, and other technical experts to improve existing test procedures (GMWs) and develop new test procedures.
Provide technical support to vehicle program teams, SMT engineering organizations, validation, quality, and manufacturing.
Research latest N&V technologies related to lab testing and determine feasibility.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related Engineering degree
5+ years of N&V or related experience
Experience using Teamcenter / NX / Vis Mockup
Ability to prioritize work and resources, and work independently with minimal direction.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to operate test vehicles.
