About the role

  • Manager Railway Industry further developing rail portfolios and digital transformation projects in a consultancy setting. Engaging in various tasks from process optimization to project management across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Further development of our rail and rolling-stock portfolio as well as expansion of technical and methodological competencies related to vehicle fleets, workshops and digital vehicle systems
  • Analysis, optimization and digitization of processes in vehicle operations, fleet control as well as in maintenance, repair and component management
  • Development of business, process and target models for digital transformation in the rolling-stock environment — from workshop processes to data-driven optimization approaches
  • Design and implementation of modern technology and data solutions (e.g., condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, telematics, IoT sensors, diagnostic systems)
  • Analysis and further development of organizational, governance and operational models in the vehicle and workshop context
  • Design and introduction of modern control, monitoring and management systems for vehicle fleets, workshops and technical units
  • Project and program management in traditional, hybrid and agile environments
  • Preparation and facilitation of workshops, trainings and change measures along the rolling-stock value chain
  • Identification of new topics, data-driven business models and development opportunities in the rail sector and potential scaling into other industries

Requirements

  • Solid expertise in vehicle technology, mobility, digital transformation as well as operational and maintenance-related requirements in the rolling-stock environment
  • Very good university degree (Master, MBA, PhD)
  • At least six years of experience in consulting or project management related to vehicles, workshops, operations or maintenance — ideally with initial leadership or coordination responsibility
  • Demonstrable success in developing new business opportunities, building long-term client relationships and delivering and scaling consulting and/or transformation projects in the vehicle domain
  • Strong strategic and conceptual thinking and an excellent understanding of operational, process and organizational models across the vehicle value chain
  • Sound knowledge of relevant consulting and project management methods and confident collaboration with interdisciplinary teams from engineering, operations, procurement, production and IT
  • Innovative mindset, initiative, willingness to take responsibility and willingness to travel according to individual project requirements
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum, ITIL)
  • Business fluent in German and English; additional languages are an advantage
