Powertrain Calibration Engineer for Ford's Electrified Powertrain Engineering team. Performing calibration duties on Gasoline/Electric Hybrid applications with lab and in-vehicle development responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Lead calibration development of a vehicle line
Manage and lead change control for the calibration team for a vehicle line
Engine, Drivability, or Diagnostic Powertrain Calibration
Evaluate and assess vehicle attributes (performance, fuel economy, emissions, drivability) on vehicle, engine dynamometer test cells, and environmental test cells.
Modify vehicle and powertrain control calibrations to improve fuel economy, performance, emissions, drivability, and diagnostics
Conduct vehicle testing and development in S.E. Michigan and at locations in Arizona, Colorado, Florida and Northern Canada
Design and conduct tests to validate engine and vehicle fuel economy, performance, emissions, drivability, and diagnostics
Review warranty data to identify emerging trends and develop corrective actions
Requirements
B.S. Engineering (BSME or BSEE) or a related field
5+ Years of experience with Calibration Tools including ETAS and/or ATI, and Matlab
5+ Years of calibration experience
15% Travel - Responsibilities include laboratory and in vehicle development at testing facilities in Michigan, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, and Canada.
Valid Driver’s License required
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Self- motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks
