About the role
- Director responsible for onboarding new liquid alternative instruments into Fidelity's investment operations. Coordinating with business partners to innovate scalable solutions in derivative middle and back office operations.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the onboarding of new alternative instruments into FFIO
- Coordinating work needed to support various Asset Manager investment paths
- Helping to define new service models
- Driving innovation in building scalable solutions
- Documenting requirements with business partners on new instrument intake
- Identifying gaps and working with service lines and business partners to develop scalable solutions
- Working with other teams within FFIO as well as across the organization
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Finance/Accounting
- At least 6-8 years spent in either Derivative middle or back office operations
- Advanced knowledge of the alternative fund industry and hedge fund products
- Detailed instrument knowledge (including Cleared and OTC Swaps, Options, Futures, Loans, and other Alternatives)
- Detailed understanding of the lifecycle of the complex instruments
- Experience supporting middle and back-office operations of derivatives instruments is preferred
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop and deliver cogent, informative presentations
- Presence and judgment to put forward well-reasoned recommendations
- Understanding of financial and accounting principles and how to apply them in business
