About the role
- Create production-ready 2D drawings in CATIA from 3D models for engineering projects at Expleo. Collaborate effectively with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure drawing accuracy and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Create production-ready 2D drawings in CATIA from 3D models, reference drawings, and engineering standards.
- Apply GD&T (ASME Y14.5 / ISO GPS) and build accurate dimension chains for functional fit and assembly.
- Convert legacy/reference drawings into customer-compliant formats.
- Ensure drawings are manufacturing-friendly (machining, sheet metal, weldments, castings/forgings).
- Maintain drawing quality including tolerances, datums, notes, title blocks, and revisions.
- Work with PLM/PDM tools such as SmarTeam, Spin Access, Sfiler (tool usage may vary by program).
- Support engineering changes (ECNs) and collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams.
Requirements
- BE / BTech / Diploma in Mechanical / Automobile / Production Engineering.
- 4–8 years of experience in CAD drafting within automotive / off-highway / heavy engineering domains.
- OEM or Tier-1 drawing experience preferred; exposure to global standards is a plus.
- Essential skills CATIA V5/V6 drafting and 3D model interpretation.
- Strong GD&T and dimension chain / tolerance stack-up knowledge.
- Good understanding of engineering drawing standards.
- Experience handling reference/legacy drawings.
- Basic exposure to off-road vehicle components (chassis, suspension, brackets, structural parts).
- Willingness to learn customer-specific tools and processes.
