About the role

  • Business Development & Growth Manager driving growth within the energy sector. Engage in building partnerships and managing client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a pipeline of opportunities across consumer, SME, and/or commercial segments
  • Deliver against sales and revenue targets in line with company growth strategy
  • Lead prospecting, proposal development, and contract negotiation to close deals
  • Support the launch and scaling of solution products (tariffs, smart charging, vehicle-to-grid, bundled services, heat, solar & storage and financing)
  • Build strategic partnerships with technology providers, installers, community groups, and trade associations to expand reach
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders
  • Negotiate commercial agreements to expand distribution channels and enhance customer value
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their energy needs and tailoring solutions accordingly
  • Drive customer satisfaction, retention, and upsell/cross-sell opportunities
  • Engage with SMEs and OEMs to deliver tailored solutions and energy management solutions
  • Provide feedback from customers to shape product design and proposition development
  • Work with Propositions, Commercial, Marketing, and Operations to develop tailored customer propositions (e.g. tariffs, renewable solutions, energy services)
  • Support the creation of sales collateral, proposals, and pitch decks

Requirements

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or partnerships (energy, utilities, telecoms, or related sectors)
  • Strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales/commercial targets
  • Strong relationship management and negotiation skills
  • Commercial and financial acumen - ability to structure and evaluate business deals
  • Knowledge of solutions, EV charging or energy retail propositions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in the energy sector (retail, renewables, EV, energy efficiency, or flexibility services) - it would be great if you had
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, net zero policies, and sustainability trends - it would be great if you had
  • Experience working with CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot) and pipeline reporting - it would be great if you had
