About the role
- Project Manager overseeing construction projects for EJF Real Estate Services. Managing capital projects, liaising with contractors, and ensuring timely delivery within budget in the Washington, DC area.
Responsibilities
- Manage capital projects from kickoff to completion, ensuring work stays aligned with scope, schedule, and budget
- Travel (typically weekly) to project sites, located primarily in and closely around Washington, DC
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and community condo boards to keep everyone aligned and moving
- Spot risks early, solve problems quickly, and keep boards fully in the loop with straightforward updates
- Uphold quality standards through inspections, progress checks, and strong contractor oversight
- Track budgets, flag variances, and ensure financial clarity at every stage
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field
- 3-5 years of construction management experience
- Experience running construction, capital, or restoration projects (or similar)
- Communicates clearly and confidently
- Reliable and accountable
- Strong organizational skills; specifically with complex projects
- Ability to manage multiple projects without losing the thread
- Keen ability to break down complex or technical jargon into lay persons speak
- Strong judgment, attention to detail, and follow-through
- Bonus: PMP, CCR or PMI-CP certification
