About the role
- Financial Accountant ensuring every transaction is recorded accurately for DLL Canada. Supporting the Finance team with reconciliations, reporting, and compliance within a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Review monthly P&L and balance sheet reports; analyze and explain material variances.
- Prepare and reconcile accounts; investigate discrepancies and ensure timely resolution.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support the Finance team during month-end close and daily operations.
- Post month-end journal entries, including accruals and intercompany charges.
- Maintain the General Ledger in Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains.
- Monitor compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Research and apply appropriate accounting treatments for various transactions under IFRS and ASPE.
- Assist in audit preparation and collaborate with the Finance team during auditor visits.
- Communicate procedural changes and address deficiencies promptly while fostering strong cross-functional relationships.
- Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned by management.
Requirements
- University degree required, preferably in Accounting
- Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or finance
- Enrolment in a professional accounting designation program such as CPA is preferred
- Strong account reconciliation skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
- Working knowledge of Great Plains Dynamics and MS Power BI is preferred
