About the role

  • Head of Commercial Law leading legal strategy across international markets for a VC-backed tech company. Overseeing commercial agreements and advising leadership on legal risks and decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the company’s commercial legal strategy across all markets.
  • Overseeing the drafting, negotiation, and execution of a wide range of commercial agreements (including customer, supplier, SaaS, and strategic partnerships).
  • Acting as a senior advisor to leadership on legal risk, deal structure, and commercial decision-making.
  • Building and optimising scalable contracting processes, templates, and playbooks.
  • Partnering closely with sales, procurement, product, and operations teams on key initiatives.
  • Supporting high-value and complex negotiations, including strategic partnerships and enterprise deals.

Requirements

  • Fully qualified German lawyer (Volljurist:in).
  • 4+ years post-qualification experience, gained in a leading law firm and/or in-house within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong track record in commercial contracting, including complex and high-value agreements.
  • Experience operating at a strategic level, advising senior stakeholders and influencing business decisions.
  • Experience working in high-growth, international environments (ideally within tech or similarly fast-moving sectors).
  • Strong commercial judgement and a pragmatic approach to risk.
