Responsibilities
Leads the development and execution of long-term product strategies, aligning with both business goals and evolving customer needs.
Owns the portfolio management for high-value products and product lines, ensuring consistent market competitiveness, profitability, and technical leadership.
Influences and shapes the product development lifecycle, from concept to obsolescence, ensuring that innovation, customer demands, and strategic priorities are met.
Maintains market position of products by managing existing product lines and competitive market information.
Participates in product modification, cost reduction, margin analysis, advertising and promotion, forecasting, product positioning and pricing strategies.
Leads market segmentation, detailed customer insights and competitive analysis to inform product direction and identify growth opportunities.
Fosters and manages relationships with key accounts to ensure product alignment with customer requirements and strategic business goals.
Drives the integration of emerging technologies and innovative approaches to meet evolving industry requirements.
Identifies and assesses new technological trends, market shifts, and potential disruptions that can be leveraged for product innovation.
Ensures compliance with government regulations, export controls and internal quality standards.
Leads and supports internal and customer audits related to product performance, certification and documentation.
Leads and mentors product management teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and high performance.
Collaborates closely with senior leadership, including engineering, manufacturing, business development, finance and operations to ensure product execution is on track and aligned with corporate objectives.
Develops goals, budget and strategic business plans for their product lines.
Recommends ways to expand sales and profitability in specific markets.
Provides sales staff with comparative product analysis; feature and benefit summaries; supporting promotional material; target customers; and product marketing strategies.
Conducts product training sessions and manages relevant trade shows.
Works with Technical Publications and Engineering to ensure high-quality production of product technical literature.
Requirements
Proven experience in managing large product portfolios with a strong track record of strategic decision-making and execution.
Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels across the organization.
Strong business acumen, with the ability to lead financial forecasting, P&L management, and resource allocation.
Exceptional leadership skills, with experience mentoring and leading high-performing teams across multiple functions.
Excellent communication skills, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, with focus on RF, GPS, and sensors
Additional education and coursework in marketing, finance and/or business administration
Preferred: Master’s degree in electrical engineering, with focus on RF, GPS, and sensors; Additional education and coursework in marketing, finance and/or business administration
10-12 years’ experience in electrical hardware design for embedded computing applications
Experience in RF circuit design incorporating GPS and other sensors, e.g., IMUs is preferred
Must be a US citizen and able to obtain and maintain a DOD Security clearance
Travel up to 20% per month; Travel up to 40% on occasion
