About the role
- Fan Engineering Intern assisting with the revitalization of Verantis engineering drawings and standards. Collaborating with the Fan Engineer using SolidWorks to document and standardize product specifications.
Responsibilities
- Learn and understand the fan manufacturing process and how each department operates
- Become familiar with all types and families of Verantis fans and the engineering principles behind their designs
- Assist the Fan Engineer in cataloging existing drawings and standards, determining what specs are accurate to our products as built and creating a plan to create new standards books for each production department
- Update 3D parts library as required for accuracy or to assist in drawing creation
- Update and recreate detailed engineering drawings of fan components and assemblies as required using SolidWorks
- Compile the updated drawings into new standards books organized by component type and product family
- Publish the new standards physically as well as digitally in the company share drives for use by all employees
Requirements
- Actively pursuing a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or in mechanical trade
- 1-2 years experience with 3D modelling, CAD or drafting software (SolidWorks preferred) in professional or educational setting
- Highly motivated individual
- Eager to learn the operations of Verantis Manufacturing
- Ability to read engineering drawings and production plans
- Comfortable learning engineering concepts
- Good problem solving and decision-making ability
- Good verbal communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft office suite
- Very strong organizational skills
