About the role
- Data Quality Engineer providing data validation and quality control for analytics at CBIZ. Working with reporting tools like Power BI and SQL within a hybrid environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform data quality validation and testing for reporting, dashboards and datasets to ensure accuracy, completeness and reliability.
- Validate data consistency between systems, ensuring no duplication, misalignment or data integrity issues
- Monitor and troubleshoot data refreshes, identifying, investigating, and resolving data anomalies, inconsistencies, or errors.
- Support light dashboarding and ad hoc data pulls in Power BI and SQL to assist validation efforts and stakeholder inquiries
- Leverage Power BI and Power Query to analyze data models, understand data relationships and validate backend logic
- Use Power Automate to support workflow automation related to data validation, monitoring and alerts
- Collaborate with business units, finance, audit, and IT to understand data needs and provide actionable insights.
- Clean, transform, and prepare large data sets to support business analysis, decision-making, and reporting requirements.
- Document data sources, data flows, and analytical methodologies to ensure transparency and repeatability.
- Present analysis findings and recommendations to stakeholders in clear, understandable terms.
- Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies relevant to data analysis and business intelligence.
Requirements
- College Degree or equivalent required
- 1 year related experience
- Proficient use of applicable technology
- Ability to follow technical instructions and guidelines
- Ability to document daily activities and system functions
- Able to work in team environment
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization both internally and externally
- Ability to travel as required by business and on-call availability
