Labor and Employment Law Paralegal at Honeywell, supporting HR Legal team in Charlotte, NC. Involvement in labor law claims and case management with a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities
Assist internal labor and employment attorneys on all aspects of claims and cases, including discovery, pleadings, mediation, trial, and settlement
Respond to inquiries/requests from outside counsel and others within the Legal Department
Prepare, issue, and manage litigation holds using software tool
Perform various case management, tracking, and other related tasks as requested by supervising attorneys
Provide litigation support, including gathering information and documents in response to discovery requests and responding to subpoenas
Organize and maintain litigation and claim-related files
Prepare and review documentation and pleadings for litigation, disputes, and other matters
Assist in reviews of reductions in force and terminations to ensure compliance with internal processes
Support M&A due diligence
Review and distribute service of process and related legal documents/communications
Support ad hoc special projects and initiatives
Requirements
Extensive experience in labor and employment law support, preferably in a corporate legal environment or law firm
Strong knowledge of labor and employment laws and regulations
Strong matter management, PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, Teams and SharePoint skills/proficiency
Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field or paralegal certification
Experience in drafting legal documents and correspondence related to labor and employment matters
Excellent written and oral communication skills and attention to detail
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Excellent judgment and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure
Customer focused & skilled relationship builder, including with the broader legal staff, business clients, and executives
Experience using Team Connect Legal Spend and Matter Management application
Ability to handle multiple complex matters independently and at same time, with minimal supervision and under tight deadlines
