Responsibilities
Lead, manage and coordinate all Mechanical Transport (MT) activities at our Wyton site
Ensure a safe, compliant and high‑performing transport service to our customer
Shape the way essential defence transport operations are delivered

Support an operation that has real impact on safety, efficiency and environmental sustainability.
Manage, control and coordinate all transport operations and MT staff
Act as the named Transport Manager and CPC Holder for Babcock’s Passenger and Goods Vehicle Operator Licences
Ensure full compliance across all transport activities, standards and procedures
Drive innovation and improvements in working practices, operational efficiency and sustainability
Monitor, review and optimise fleet performance to meet operational and cost requirements.
Requirements
Good knowledge of SHEF practices and procedures
Strong understanding of MS Office tools
Familiarity with Tri‑Service and/or MoD practices and completion of the MOD MT Managers Course
Proven managerial experience in a transport environment.
Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
Considerable experience in road transport management
Full clean UK driving licence.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
