About the role

  • Senior Manager, SEO position at Assembly leading teams to drive technical excellence and strategic recommendations in SEO. Collaborating with clients and development teams for high-quality initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Management
  • Lead and mentor a team of technical SEO specialists, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to timelines.
  • Oversee workload allocation, performance reviews, and professional development for offshore team members.
  • Implement efficient workflows and AI-driven automation to improve team productivity.
  • Technical SEO Expertise
  • Conduct and present technical SEO audits addressing crawl/indexation, internationalization, schema markup, and structural issues.
  • Perform Core Web Vitals audits and recommend solutions for LCP, CLS, and INP improvements.
  • Manage technical aspects of site migrations, including pre-launch audits, redirect mapping, and benchmarking.
  • Develop, prioritize, and QA development tickets in JIRA or similar platforms.
  • Collaborate with client development teams to implement SEO best practices.
  • Tool & Technology Proficiency
  • Utilize advanced tools such as Chrome DevTools, Sitebulb, Oncrawl, Screaming Frog, Semrush, Ahrefs, and enterprise platforms like BrightEdge, Conductor, and seoClarity.
  • Leverage Google Apps Script, Excel macros/add-ins, and automation workflows for reporting and analysis.
  • Apply coding knowledge in Python, JavaScript, HTML/CSS for technical troubleshooting and optimization.
  • Integrate AI agents/workflows to streamline repetitive tasks and enhance technical audits.
  • CMS & Platform Experience
  • Work with major CMS platforms including Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Shopify, and WordPress for technical implementations.
  • Client Communication & Strategy
  • Present technical findings and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders in a clear, actionable manner.
  • Stay updated on SEO trends, algorithm changes, and emerging technologies to inform strategy.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of SEO experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven ability to manage and scale offshore teams, ensuring operational excellence.
  • Strong technical SEO background with expertise in Core Web Vitals, site migrations, and enterprise-level SEO challenges.
  • Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and familiarity with automation tools.
  • Hands-on experience with Chrome DevTools, Sitebulb, Oncrawl, Screaming Frog, and major SEO platforms (BrightEdge, Conductor, seoClarity).
  • Advanced skills in Excel, including macros and add-ins, and Google Apps Script for automation.
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms: Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Shopify, WordPress.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
