About the role
- Senior Construction Manager overseeing implementation of rail transit systems in New York/New Jersey tunnel project. Leading the coordination of technical aspects of rail systems installations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the construction and installation of rail transit systems within the rail tunnel project, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety standards.
- Coordinate and oversee the integration of trackwork, signaling systems, traction power, communications, and control systems.
- Collaborate closely with design teams, subcontractors, and vendors to review system designs, resolve technical issues, and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Develop and implement comprehensive construction schedules, resource plans, and budgets for systems installation and testing.
- Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks to verify work meets design specifications and safety regulations.
- Manage and coordinate the commissioning and testing phases of rail transit systems, ensuring functionality and reliability prior to operational deployment.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA-130 standards and other relevant codes and regulations pertaining to fire protection and life safety in transit environments.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, progress reports, and project documentation for management and stakeholders.
- Implement effective risk management strategies to identify and mitigate potential project risks related to systems construction and integration.
Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive experience in rail transit systems construction, including trackwork, signals, traction power, and related installations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
