About the role

  • Ship’s Store Accountant performing accounting and inventory management for Navy retail operations. Supporting financial reviews and maintaining accurate records within a remote setting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accounting, financial tracking, and inventory management duties in support of Navy Ship’s Store retail and resale operations.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and monitor cash handling procedures.
  • Reconcile sales transactions and prepare required accounting reports.
  • Manage inventory documentation and track merchandise receipts and expenditures.
  • Ensure proper documentation for stock levels and item movement.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reviews; verify pricing accuracy and assist with audits.
  • Maintain point‑of‑sale (POS) system data and support merchandise ordering processes.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in accounting, retail financial operations, or inventory management
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic understanding of bookkeeping principles, cash management, and retail accounting practices
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and/or point‑of‑sale systems
  • Must be in possession of a valid Passport and be able to travel internationally.
  • Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
