About the role

Responsibilities
- Works closely with employees and leaders to provide guidance on HR processes and strategies
- Builds and maintains strong working relationships with company and union leadership
- Supports corporate business unit goals in compliance with HR policies and practices
- Participates in union negotiations and administration of collective bargaining agreements
- Interprets labor contract provisions and past practices to support business activities
- Consults on investigations, employment agency complaints, and corrective actions
- Delivers training on HR policies and procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in HR Management or other applicable discipline
- 2+ years' experience in an HR support/analytical role
- Project leadership experience
- Strong technical understanding of HR subject matter and practices
- Strong analytical skills
- 5+ years' experience in an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner role in a union environment (preferred)
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and problem solving skills (preferred)
- Conflict resolution skills (preferred)
- Experience interpreting collective bargaining agreements, participating in union negotiations, processing grievances, etc. (preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (preferred)
