Senior Telecommunications Network Engineer providing advanced technical expertise and leadership in network design and management at Digital Consultants. Supporting complex telecommunications and LAN/WAN systems for DoD.
Responsibilities
Design, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN, wireless, and VoIP architectures supporting enterprise operations.
Manage routing/switching, VLANs, IPv6 migration, DNS/DHCP, and network segmentation.
Integrate network solutions with Cisco ISE, Catalyst Center, Ansible, INFOBLOX, Splunk, Axonius, and NetScout tools.
Perform network performance analysis, optimization, and fault isolation.
Provide Tier III support for incident resolution, including 24/7/365 on-call rotation.
Ensure STIG, DISA, and DoD cybersecurity compliance.
Create and maintain network documentation, testing procedures, and implementation guides.
Mentor junior engineers and assist with certification readiness.
Requirements
Clearance: SECRET with a Tier 5/SSBI (Top Secret) Background Investigation (critical sensitive).
Certifications: DoD 8140 Baseline Certification: IAT Level I AND at least one Computing Environment (CE) certification, such as CCSA, CCSE, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, RHCSA, RHCE, WSHAA, or AZ-104.
Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) certification is strongly desired.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Experience: At least seven (7) years of network operations experience, with a strong focus on telecommunications and LAN/WAN environments.
Higher-level education or military service may substitute for up to two (2) years of experience.
Proven ability to lead teams across geographically dispersed facilities.
Expertise in carrier-based WAN services, wireless voice/data networks, and VoIP systems.
Strong knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policies, standards, and compliance requirements.
Ability to develop and deliver high-quality technical reports and presentations.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for resolving complex network issues.
Effective communication and leadership skills to interface with senior government and contractor stakeholders.
