Responsibilities
manages specialized work within the Nuclear Generation Department, supporting power uprate projects at Catawba, McGuire, and Brunswick.
provides direct oversight and integration of supplemental engineers (including contract, vendor, and temporary staff) to ensure project objectives are met efficiently and in compliance with company standards.
Develops and maintains positive working relationships with site, corporate teammates, and supplemental engineering staff to effectively coordinate work activities.
Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems, including those arising from supplemental engineering deliverables.
Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities.
Requirements
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
A Master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B. S. engineering degree.
Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience for Nuclear Engineer III.
Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience or 5 years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional Engineer for Senior Nuclear Engineer.
Experience overseeing supplemental engineering teams or contract/vendor staff in the commercial nuclear sector.
Experience with onboarding, training, and integrating supplemental engineers into project teams.
Experience with quality assurance and compliance review of external engineering deliverables.
Proficient in principles of project management, including coordination of internal and supplemental resources.
Engineer conducting structural analysis of rotor blades for wind energy plants. Responsible for design improvement, load requests in production, and certification documentation.
