About the role
- Senior Front-End Developer responsible for building accessible user interfaces across web and mobile for Toronto's home management platform. Collaborating closely with design teams and mentoring junior staff.
Responsibilities
- Lead implementation of scalable, maintainable front-end architecture across web and native mobile platforms
- Own the development and governance of cross-platform design systems
- Build modular, reusable, and accessible components across platforms
- Drive adoption of inclusive design and accessibility best practices
- Ensure technical excellence in performance, responsiveness, offline behavior, and platform-specific UI/UX nuances
- Guide front-end architectural decisions across web and mobile
- Collaborate with product managers and the design team to define technical specifications
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers in front-end and mobile development
- Own backlog health, sprint planning, and delivery of features across mobile and web surfaces
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional front-end development experience
- At least 2 years leading technical projects or teams
- Deep expertise in modern JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, preferably React
- Experience delivering native mobile applications using React Native, SwiftUI, or similar
- Strong track record of implementing and scaling design systems, including design tokens, component libraries, and accessibility standards
- Familiarity with WCAG compliance, semantic markup, and accessible patterns across platforms
