About the role
- Product Design Authority overseeing mobility systems for defense at Thales in La Ferté-Saint-Aubin. Engaging in product bids and ensuring compliance with technical standards in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Actively participate in product tender responses; prepare for and attend stage-gate reviews
- Issue the DVA to frame the technical solution by identifying risks and opportunities, as well as schedule constraints prior to costing
- Translate the PLA product policy into contractual projects
- Serve as the technical interface with the client by defining appropriate solutions
- Ensure QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) performance objectives are met throughout the product lifecycle
- Advise the PLA on product policy and roadmaps
- Make trade-offs between acquisition cost and total cost of ownership
- Ensure industrial feasibility, including industrialization and obsolescence management
Requirements
- Significant experience in defense and/or aerospace, with mobility systems and C2 (Command & Control)
- Knowledge of VTS-FR products and their operational use cases
- Experience with model-based development, simulation, IVVQ (Integration, Verification, Validation, Qualification), RAMST (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety & Test), and pyrotechnics
- Professional working proficiency in English; autonomy; proactive mindset; ability to work in cross-functional teams beyond formal hierarchies; strong customer orientation
