About the role
- Online Engineer at Lighthouse Games responsible for creating multiplayer gaming solutions. Collaborating closely with designers and technical teams to enhance player experiences and ensure high-quality online services.
Responsibilities
- Working closely with the design and technical teams to implement robust and scalable online solutions
- Produce clean and robust code, following all standards and guidelines, including the use of automated testing processes
- Working with first party network services such as PSN, Xbox Live, and Steam, and custom internal and 3rd party APIs, such a Playfab and OpenMatch
- Establish online service features such as matchmaking, friends, and commerce
- Champion quality within Lighthouse Games and our online services development
- Seek out opportunities to improve your skills as a game developer
- Actively take part in our collaborative and creative team spirit
Requirements
- Experience working in Online/Networking on one or more previous titles
- Passion for all things multiplayer and online, with a drive to deliver a world class user experience
- Solid understanding of code architecture best practices
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to plan and meet scheduled goals
- Passion for gaming and game development
- Experience in Unreal Engine 4 or 5 (Desirable)
- Socket level experience (Desirable)
- Experience in Web Development (Desirable)
- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes (Desirable)
