Responsibilities
Provide technical assistance to internal customers with high-level network and systems requests.
Design, implement, and test complex infrastructure in support of Topcon’s business requirements.
Resolve complex issues by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure and implement network and systems projects with limited supervision.
Identify improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability.
Monitor network performance and integrity using tools such as Solarwinds.
Monitor systems health and make recommendations for additional resources or hardware.
Perform routine network maintenance such as installing and updating software, firmware and security patches as required with adherence to change management policies and procedures.
Maintain complete technical documentation.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferred, with appropriate hands-on experience, in a technical area of study.
Professional certification (Cisco, PAN, AWS, Azure, VMWare, etc.) or equivalent experience.
3+ years of Industry-related experience as a Network Engineer or Network Administrator.
3+ years of experience working with Cisco networking technologies.
Experience supporting nextgen firewalls such as Palo Alto or Fortinet.
Cloud IaaS services (AWS or Azure).
Proficient with AD, DNS, DHCP.
Solid background in network administration and architecture, able to design, deploy and troubleshoot functional networks (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, SD-WAN).
Solid understanding of network and security operating systems (IOS, NX-OS and PAN-OS).
Basic understanding of routing and switching protocols and technology (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP, STP, VLANs).
Knowledge of access control models and network security.
Knowledge of wireless security concepts: WPAx, PEAP, EAP-TLS, 802.1X.
Good working knowledge of wireless LAN technologies. 802.11a/g/n/ac/ax, Access points, wireless management, Active Directory (AD), and RADIUS.
